The aromatic elegance of Verzenay Pinot Noir

An extraordinary season with an early harvest. After an exceptionally rainy winter and a sunny spring with above-average temperatures, the vines flourished quickly. Flowering occurred early, at the start of June, while July brought beautiful weather, which helped ensure exceptional vine health. Harvest began early, starting on August 20th and continuing to mid-September, with excellent conditions: sunny, but not too-hot days, cool nights.

Pale yellow with luminous golden highlights.
ON THE NOSE
Autumnal aromas of yellow fruit, dried fruit, toasted and vanilla notes, with hints of marzipan, medlar and spices.

Powerful, greedy and complex notes, reminiscent of candied fruit and quince jelly, with an umami touch of sourdough bread and a unique iodine finish.

Verzenay, a terroir in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, is one of the seventeen Champagne villages classified as Grand Cru. The north-facing vineyards give birth to a Pinot Noir with mineral notes. This is a champagne with a frank, powerful character that brings complexity and elegance to the palate.

The same land since the beginning. The Pinots Noirs used to make RSRV Blancs de Noirs are pressed exclusively in Verzenay, in the very first press acquired by the House in 1843. Located in the heart of the vineyard, the quality of the grapes is preserved thanks to a short route from picking to pressing.

A minimum of three years’ ageing and a light dosage of 6 grams per litre are necessary to allow the finesse of its aromas to reveal themselves fully.
