RSRV Rosé Foujita - Origines

Terroirs & Origins

A blend of six Grand Cru wines belonging to the House: Cramant and Avize for the Chardonnays, Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay for the Pinot Noirs. The still red wine from Ambonnay completes this aromatic blend.

Enhanced by notes of red fruit and more subtle aromas such as blood orange, RSRV Rosé Foujita is a bold, harmonious wine.

Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita, a friend of Picasso and Apollinaire, settled in Paris in 1913. He became one of the most popular artists of the first half of the twentieth
century.

In 1957, when art-lover René Lalou was looking for a symbol to represent his rosé champagne, he asked Foujita for a watercolor, and “Foujita’s Rose” was born.
The pair’s deepening friendship inspired Foujita to move to Reims, and it was during this new chapter of his life that he designed the Foujita Chapel, a symbol of the importance of men, ties and places when it comes to terroir.
Savoir-Faire RSRV
RSRV Rosé Foujita - Savoir-Faire

Savoir-Faire

The Chardonnay from Cramant and Avize, and the Pinot Noir from Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay, are pressed and vinified separately before being harmoniously blended with the still red wine from Ambonnay, as well as with reserve wines, representing 20 to 30% of the final blend.

In a chromatic and sensory challenge, the deep, velvety pink colour draws its brilliance and depth from the large, controlled proportion of red wine in the blend.

The wine is aged for at least four years in cellars, before the dosage liqueur is added. Produced directly from these six crus and matured in Burgundy casks, the liqueur gives the wine a depth and depth that evoke pastry notes, while leaving a new imprint of each terroir.
